The 27th Annual Homer Winter King Salmon Tournament, Saturday April 17, 2021.

 
The Homer Winter King Salmon Tournament is the premier fishing tournament of Alaska. Every Spring anglers take to the waters of Kachemak Bay in search of King Salmon. 
 
The one-day tournament awards tens of thousands of dollars in prize money to the largest kings caught. In 2019, 1391 fisherman and 426 boats competed. Last year over $171,000.00 in cash & prizes were awarded. 

There are also additional opportunities for side tourneys & prizes offered every hour of the tournament on the radio and Facebook. After the fishing lines are pulled from the water join the festivities at the weigh-in stations by the Deep Water Dock, located at 4667 Freight Dock Road, 
 
For the 2021 Tournament, the following modifications have been made to address the COVID related concerns for the anglers and the community:
  • The date was moved into April to give more time for the vaccine to get distributed and for better weather for outside activities.
  • We are limiting the number of people at the weigh in area to provide for better distancing.
  • We are moving the public elements to a larger area by the Deep Water Dock, so we can provide for better social distancing.  The Beer Garden, Awards Ceremony and Food Vendors will be adjusted or eliminated to meet with the current State and Local COVID Guidlines.
  • Tournament Registrations and Side Tournaments can now be done online. 
  • Face coverings are requested when at the tournament area.
